Dictation is processed online; history stays on your Mac until you delete it. Sharing recordings, transcripts, outputs and corrections is optional; shared data is kept for up to 90 days. Five free minutes either way.
Beta data notice
- Audio goes to a speech service; transcript, vocabulary and optional spelling examples go to a text service. Unshared audio is deleted after processing; provider retention is separate.
- Delete local history or withdraw sharing anytime. Outages may delay deletion; expired shared data stays blocked when service is available.
- Account deletion keeps your Auth identity, including its email, private trial accounting and a server-only email fingerprint. Signing back in restores unused minutes, not content or a new trial.
- Encrypted content backups expire within seven days. Separate deletion/trial records remain and are applied before recovery.
- Downloads use CAPTCHA, without email/sign-in. Counts track links issued and activated accounts, not installs. Beta availability is limited.
